Common questions
Does putting a wet phone in rice work?
Not reliably. Rice doesn't remove liquid from inside the phone, and dust can get into the ports. Turning the phone off and getting it opened and cleaned works better.
My phone is water resistant. Why did it get damaged?
Water resistance weakens with age, drops and past repairs, and it doesn't cover salt water, pools or hot water. Any phone can take in liquid.
Can you recover my photos?
Often, if the phone can be brought back to life long enough to back up. Tell us data is the priority and we'll focus on that.
Should I try to charge it to see if it works?
No. Charging a wet phone can short-circuit the board. Keep it off and unplugged until it's checked.
